Empathy still has the power to stop us in our tracks and connect us to people and brands who values we share—despite whatever visual noise we encounter day-to-day. Photographing countless real people in the decade since I became a working photographer has taught me how to push my subjects to "speak" authentically in gesture and expression. While I love the technical aspects of the craft, this human-centered focus defines my photography and is what I most enjoy about making pictures.
